Chinkara and blackbuck abound in this area. Quails can be sighted too. The most abundant bird here is the partridge (teetar). Partridges almost seem to fall out of trees.

Vegetation is mostly the typical scrub hardy wiry trees like khair, babhul, with small leaves and thorns. Then there are the typical trees like kaal, khejri and ker.

Bishnoi country. Guda district to be precise. About 22 kms from Jodhpur is a beautiful place called as Bishnoi Village Camp. Out here, there is a rare clarity in the air which gives a bluer tint to the skies. The surrounding scrub countryside with nary a human habitation intensifies the feeling of vastness and serenity.
