Talgad is a small fort in Konkan, near Roha. It offers stunning views from the top during the monsoon. A climb up should take hardly 20 minutes. Our ascent (and more importantly the descent) was considerably slower as the rains had resulted in slippery stones on the path. A variety of flora and butterflies are seen here.
The place is spanking clean as it hardly receives any visitors. The sole visitor at our picnic lunch was a crab!
Distance from Pune: approx 130 kms. Route: Via, Paud, Mulshi, Tamhini Ghat. At Maangav, take a right turn for Indapur. From there to the tiny base village ‘Tala’ is hardly 15 kms.
